Have ideas for ways we can strengthen the bonds that hold us together while we become even more tolerant and welcoming of our differences? How can we become even more equitable and inclusive in our practices and our outcomes?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Join McKinley\u2019s new TIDE committee &#8212; part of a citywide effort called Petaluma TIDE (Team for Inclusivity, Diversity, and Equity).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Petaluma TIDE was formed by a group of parents after hearing stories of racism and bias from high school students in Petaluma. TIDE is a community-led group exploring how to make our schools more safe, inclusive, and welcoming for all of our diverse TK-12 students, families, teachers, and administrators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>(Join the Petaluma TIDE Facebook group: <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/562908137539076\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/562908137539076\/<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Involvement in McKinley\u2019s TIDE committee may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Periodic meetings to discuss priorities for how McKinley TIDE could and should work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participation in city-wide trainings on bias and equity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Helping to raise funding and awareness for these efforts at McKinley<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sharing what\u2019s working at McKinley with other Petaluma City Schools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To join McKinley TIDE any time, email Kristen Joyce at mckptapres@gmail.com!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Calling all McKinley\/PACS parents, teachers, staff, and students!
