PTA Announcements – Week of November 1, 2020

We loved seeing all your students’ creative videos and they truly lifted our spirits. If you haven’t yet, check out the video gallery.

Even Ms. Larson, Ms. Diana, and Ms. Rocio shared their dance moves.

Please remember to drop off your check and cash donations at the school front desk by Tuesday, November 3 at 3:30pm.

There are only a few days left of our Dance-a-thon fall fundraiser!

Remember to create your donation request page and share it with your friends and family via email and social media. You may also pick up pledge envelopes at the McKinley front office for cash and check donations. Information about T-shirt pick up is coming for the classes that haven’t gotten them yet.

If you’d like to upload your dance video you may do that here.

We are currently falling short of our budgeted fundraising goal for the Dance-a-thon. We know this is a tough and uncertain financial time for many of our families, so please donate if you are able. Small donations make a huge impact.

All the proceeds from this fundraiser will go to support the learning experience of every McKinley and PACS student. Let’s rally and finish strong, Mustangs!

We are excited to announce individual and class incentives to the highest fundraisers!

  • The top individual who raises the most will receive a Family Basket that includes a gift card to Lombardi’s ($60 value), a gift card to Stockhome ($60 value), two bottles of wine, and some sparkling apple cider.
  • The students from the lower-grade class that raises the most collectively will receive a free ice cream certificate.
  • The students from the PACS grade that collectively raises the most will win a free pizza certificate

Less than two weeks to get your Dance-a-Thon pledges in!

Collecting donation pledges for our Dance-a-Thon fall fundraiser is easy!

Simply create a pledge page and share it with your friends and family via email and social media.

We also have envelopes available to pick up at the McKinley office for checks and cash donations. Last day to pledge is Friday, October 30.

If every child at McKinley raises $210 (asks 10 people for $21), we could fully fund the PTA for the entire year! Last year we provided funds for experiential learning trips, supplies for the classroom, a garden coordinator, a lower grade Bilingual Instructional Assistant, and much more.

Get Your Dance-a-Thon Pledges In!

Our Dance-a-thon fundraiser is here!

Instead of our annual fall Jog-a-thon fundraiser, this year students will have an opportunity to showcase their dance moves in a 19-second video to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”

Simply create a pledge page to share with your friends and family to collect pledges and donations for our school. We will also have envelopes for checks and cash available at the school office on Monday (10/12). Last day to pledge is Friday, 10/30.

Your child can submit their dance videos to us to FlipGrid (link available the last week of October).

This is our biggest fundraiser of the fall, and your participation will make it a huge success.

McKinley Dance-a-thon kicks off Friday, 10/9!

Get ready for a week filled with dancing, prizes, and surprises.

Due to unprecedented times and distance learning, our annual Jog-a-thon will now be a Dance-a-thon for all to enjoy.

Show us your scariest 19 second dance move to Thriller!

Submit your videos showcasing your dance moves on the last week of October (10/26 to 10/30). Pledging will start on Friday 10/9 and the final day to pledge will be Friday, 10/30.

First Day of School!

Hello McKinley Mustangs! I hope that your first day of school goes as smoothly as possible.

In your nice McKinley tote bags, you should receive a welcome letter from myself and Ashley along with a flyer for a free ice cream scoop at Baskin Robbins! Our McKinley Ice Cream Social starts today until next Tuesday (8/18). Please post pictures of the kids with their ice cream on FaceBook/Instagram and don’t forget to hashtag McKinley and Baskin Robbins. We would love to see all the kids enjoying their ice cream!

Also, don’t forget to use our profile picture frame for the first day of school! Head on over to the McKinley PTA FaceBook page to use it.

Now More Than Ever, Make Sure That You Receive McKinley and PCS District Communications!

The PCS District collects information about families through an online platform (Aeries) at the beginning of the school year. This contact information is placed on a contact database that is used by the PCS District and the schools to communicate with families.

If you are not receiving information from the PCS District (e.g. email sent on 4/22/20 regarding contact information updates) or McKinley School (e.g. weekly newsletter sent out every Sunday) or receiving only some of these emails, follow these guidelines below in this order. 

1. Check your Spam-Social-Promotions-etc. folders or your filters to make sure they are not there. PCS emails usually get sent from and McKinley School emails come from McKinley Communications ()

2. Check your information on the Aeries portal to make sure it is accurate and it is listed in the right place (under student’s contact).

  1. Log in to Aeries Parent Portal 
  2. Click on Student Info > Contacts
  3. Verify that you are listed as a Contact

Note that having a contact email under the general profile will not be enough. Each student has a section for contacts for that student and the information in that section is the one that schools use. If you have a Jr. High student and a McKinley student, you must have your contact information properly entered in each student’s contact section in order to receive communications from both schools. Otherwise, you will only receive communications from the school to which the student with proper contact information goes.

3. If you are still having trouble after trying #1 and #2 and not getting the Sunday newsletter/PCS District emails, contact the PCS District to get further assistance  General Phone: (707) 778-4813; Aeries Portal: Setup, Updates, etc.:
